Based on techniques and methods developed by European masters, the Instructors at the Long Island School of Applied Arts are prepared to offer students a unique experience. Classes are offered in woodcarving, marquetry, drawing and painting, for students in skills ranging from beginner to advanced are available. our teaching is unique because we are a creative art school.
The Long Island School of Applied Arts was unofficially started by Walter Connolly and Ruslan Kava in 2008 in Lindenhurst, Long Island, when Walter and Ruslan began teaching woodcarving and marquetry under the schools former name Long Island School of Classical Woodcarving. although our name has changed or dedication to teaching traditional European woodworking has remained. wood carving
